I know, it's not a big deal and it really doesn't hurt. But it did call for a band aid all day to keep it from getting blood on everything. Top it all off, now I know for sure I'm not Sleeping Beauty. Oh, wait it wasn't a spinning wheel... it was scissors.
The rest of the day went on in a blur. I didn't get around to taking pictures of everyone working (but today would have been GREAT because everyone was doing cool stuff).. but I have a good reason. Because I was over stressed out and sewing like a banshee. I did get some pictures at fittings, and took a quick photo of Cogsworths new hat. It's pretty cool, and it looks like Captain Crunch. :) Carson always does a great job on the hats!
After spending the day sewing like crazy, and then loading the car with huge costume pieces, not only am I super worried about load in (as, even in my huge car, there is never going to be enough space) but I put them in the car and realized once I was on the free way that I couldn't see out of the side and back windows. Luckily I didn't run into anyone changing lanes. Darn blind spot. :/ Then, as I was driving North I noticed some dark storm clouds. I was headed right for them and by the time I got to the rehearsal space, there was a full on downpour. It looked like this:
The wipers had just swiped the fresh rain from the window. And here in Arizona rain drops are huge! And I was pretty much in a panic about getting Cogsworth and the Wardrobe into the space without everything getting ruined. But, I made it in and everything survived just fine. But, seriously, just one more thing to add to the frustrations of the day.
Here are some pictures from fittings:
This is the Lovely Emily. She's the Wardrobe (duh...) We will add some gold flowers to the doors and circle parts.
This is Anna. She is one of my favorite all time kids to work with. She is always professional and fun, and sassy when the camera is out! She is Mrs. Potts. Her dress isn't done. I'm going to embellish it and add a big hat. Oh, and I need to make the spout and cover her tea pot ball deal. And add lace to the sleeves. Oh, and there's no zipper in the back yet... Geesh I'm tired and this is way rambling on. Anyhow, Anna is awesome!
This is McKenna. She is super fun and great to work with. I do need to figure out something to do so her girls don't look so huge... Hum... the problems of the costumer.
Here is Mattaea. I did say this is first fittings, right? That's why things don't fit super well. But the look way cuter than on the hanger. And Mattaea is always a good sport .
Here's the last 2 Silly Girls. I think their names are Ashley and Hannah... They're too cute!
And here is Belle. In her unfinished ball gown. I still wonder who thought putting Belle in a yellow/gold dress was a good idea. Seriously, YELLOW?!? Geesh. Very few people can wear that color. But Devon is super pretty and will look fantastic when she's all done up!
Well that's about all that. On the way home I was able to stop by Hobby Lobby and Joann's to pick up some supplies for the rest of the week. Just wait and see how much we get done! Because we have to pretty much do all of it as the show OPENS next weekend.
Love the Captain Crunch Hat :) Everything looks great, Reb!
